Hey kids in Grades 3 - 6! Come out to read the hottest books from Canadian Writers! Join the Silver Birch Club by registering at your local branch or during our January visit to your school. Silver Birch Club meetings will feature special presentations, investigations and games highlighting the books you are reading. At our last event you will vote for your favourite books during our end of club pizza party. This year the club we will meet 5 times between February 9th and April 22nd.

Warm up your little ones this Polarfest with a special all ages storytime led by Kathleen from the Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield Library. Celebrate the cold with snowy tales of outdoor fun, sing songs about the wonders of winter and create a simple polar craft to take home.

The Reading Buddies Program involves adult and teen volunteers reading and playing literacy based games one-on-one with a group of children in Grades 1 and 2 every week after school for one hour. Children are referred by their Teachers to take part in the program. Reading Buddies meet each Thursday from October 1st 2009 - February 11th 2010 at the Ennismore branch.
