Sublimation

Sublimation is a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as fabric and coated tumblers. In this process, a design is first printed onto special sublimation paper using sublimation ink. The printed paper is then placed on a blank and exposed to high heat and pressure using a heat press. The heat causes the ink to turn into gas and bond with the material at a molecular level, resulting in vibrant, long-lasting, and washable prints that won’t crack, peel, or fade over time.

In the Makerspace, we have a mug press, tumbler press, and Htvront Heat Press.
